İGA hosted executives from IATA and AOC member airlines and airline service providers to share up-to-date information and exchange ideas about the İstanbul New Airport
İGA Airport Operation, which will operate for 25 years the Istanbul New Airport, a project that is set to accelerate the growth of Turkish aviation, met nearly 150 representatives from IATA and AOC member airlines and service providers for the first time in İstanbul.
“İGA does not only construct a new airport in the north of İstanbul, it also makes an investment that will completely change the dynamics of the future's aviation. According to the ACI (Airports Council International) September 2016 report, the European region, including Turkey, will have the biggest share in international air traffic in 2033. And İstanbul will be the takeoff and landing point for long range flights with a daily capacity of 50 thousand in 2033,” said CEO of İGA Airport Operation Hüseyin Keskin at the meeting titled "Welcome to the New Global Center of Aviation!
Stating that passenger experience has been undergoing digitization, Keskin continued: “Passengers' expectations include customization, flight orders, prompt solutions, reliability, and amenities. The key point in becoming customers' preferred airport is to go beyond these expectations. As with certain other airports, İstanbul New Airport will utilize robots, artificial intelligence, face identification and similar technologies that use personal data for check-in and baggage claim points
Square meter prices to be determined
Updated information on the operation and construction of the İstanbul New Airport was shared at the meeting, which was attended by around 150 representatives from 46 airlines and service providers. Towards the end of the meeting, attendees were provided request forms to better understand the needs and expectations of their respective companies, and were informed that the price list for leasing at the airport will be published within the week.
Following the meeting, all company representatives visited the İstanbul New Airport construction site to received further information about the progress.
