On the journey we embarked upon, inspired by Istanbul’s unique location and energy, and driven by our mission to “connect the world to Istanbul and Istanbul to the world,” we take great pride in contributing to our country and the global aviation industry through iGA Istanbul Airport—one of the grandest projects in the history of our Republic.
As of 2025, our airport facilitates flights to over 330 destinations worldwide. In addition to hosting millions of visitors annually, it has successfully maintained its position as “Europe’s busiest airport” for five consecutive years. iGA Istanbul Airport continues to add value to our national economy and Türkiye’s "country brand" through its contributions to employment, tourism, and trade, creating a global impact as a preeminent international hub.
We demonstrate the importance we place on human resources not only by creating jobs and providing economic contributions but also through the meticulous care we show for the development and satisfaction of our employees. By prioritizing training, career growth, and occupational safety, we aim to build a sustainable workforce. This approach, while enhancing service quality on both a regional and global scale, is also one of the most critical factors establishing iGA Istanbul Airport as a global brand. While contributing to Türkiye's economic growth through the employment provided, we also achieve high standards and a competitive advantage in international platforms.
Operating with the principle of “Turkish hospitality,” which is an inseparable part of our culture and values, our airport offers a wide range of services catering to different cultures and special needs. Through its unique applications and services, it continues to expand both its passenger capacity and its stakeholder network every passing day.
iGA Istanbul Airport consists of four phases in total, and upon completion of all phases, it will reach an annual capacity of 200 million passengers. According to the “iGA Istanbul Airport Economic Impact Analysis” report prepared by ‘Istanbul Economics’—the Turkish representative of the independent international consultancy firm FTI—it is projected that by 2030, within the scope of Türkiye’s direct and indirectly linked economic activities, the airport will:
While advancing steadily on the global aviation stage with the high-level travel experience we offer, we utilize technology for human benefit and continuous progress, providing our stakeholders and passengers with the airport experience of the future today.
As an airport with ambitious goals to consolidate our country’s leading position in its region and the world, we have embraced digitalization as an "area of continuous development" since day one. With our advanced technological infrastructure, we have adopted the “Smart Airport” concept.
Our goals are very high not only in passenger transport but also in cargo and logistics—one of the world’s most vital sectors. Due to its geopolitical location between Europe, Asia, and Africa, iGA Istanbul Airport Cargo City is a natural hub for air cargo and courier operations. With its high standards of safety, security, and efficiency, it is both a valuable part of Istanbul’s economic growth and one of the most significant air cargo and logistics centers in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia.
As iGA Istanbul Airport, we share the pride of having written our name in golden letters across the global aviation sector in the very short time since 2018 with all of Türkiye.
As an airport that shapes not only the present but also the future, we implement pioneering projects that create a tangible impact in the field of sustainability. As of the end of 2025, we have met 54% of our total energy consumption from renewable sources by launching one of the world’s largest airport renewable energy projects with our Solar Power Plant established in Eskişehir.
Through our energy efficiency practices and operational improvements, we have reduced our greenhouse gas emissions by 27.8% compared to the 2019 base year, making significant progress on our decarbonization journey in line with our 2050 Net Zero Emissions target.
In accordance with our resource efficiency approach, we are achieving significant gains in waste management and contributing to our circular economy goals by recovering 34% of our waste. With the reverse osmosis investment we have realized in the field of water management, we are taking concrete steps toward the protection of water resources by increasing our wastewater recovery rate to 42%.
Through all these efforts, we adopt a holistic sustainability approach that integrates energy, water, and waste management; while increasing our operational efficiency, we reduce our environmental impact and offer our guests a more sustainable airport experience.
Moving forward, we will continue to set an exemplary model for future generations and provide benefits to both the Turkish and global economies through our business model that seeks mutual benefit with our stakeholders, our innovative initiatives, and our approach to sustainability.
