iGA Istanbul Airport continues to strengthen its position as the world's most important global transit hub, shown by the increasing satisfaction of its guests every year. According to the satisfaction research conducted by GfK (Growth from Knowledge) this year, 89 percent of passengers flying from iGA Istanbul Airport stated that they were satisfied with the services they received.
With the motivation to provide a flawless travel experience to all passengers at iGA Istanbul Airport, the results of the annual research, conducted to identify areas of improvement, were announced in 2023. According to the study conducted by GfK, it was determined that iGA Istanbul Airport is the main airport preferred by the people of Istanbul.
Compared to research from previous years, the increase in the satisfaction rate for iGA Istanbul Airport was striking. First conducted in 2021, the research measured the public's level of satisfaction with iGA Istanbul Airport at 84 percent, and at 83 percent in 2022. According to the results for 2023, the number of Istanbul residents who were satisfied with the service they received from iGA Istanbul Airport increased to a whopping 89 percent.
While participants were asked why they liked iGA Istanbul Airport, “the size of the airport” was the highest scoring satisfaction criterion. Among other reasons specified by the participants were “the airport’s cleanliness”, “helpful/friendly staff” and “the airport being spacious, orderly and tidy”. Research participants were also asked to evaluate iGA Istanbul Airport according to certain criteria, and the main responses included that İGA Istanbul Airport “pays attention to passenger satisfaction”, “is more technologically developed compared to its competitors”, “has facilities for passengers with special needs and children” and is “a prestigious airport”.
The people of Istanbul also emphasized that iGA Istanbul Airport is an institution that “Strives to provide the best possible service”. On the other hand, the fact that the airport is “located quite far from the city center” was expressed as an area of improvement. Regarding the issue, the airport management announced that passengers will be able to reach the airport from the city center in only 24 minutes once the M11 subway line (Gayrettepe – Istanbul Airport – Halkalı) is completed.
