As one of the world’s most important global transfer hubs, İGA Istanbul Airport continues to carry the values of the past into the future through projects focused on social benefit. Within this scope, the “Road to Victory” project supports village schools located along the route of the Great Offensive, a decisive turning point in the Turkish War of Independence.
Turkey’s “monument of victory,” İGA Istanbul Airport, demonstrates both its respect for history and its faith in the future through the “Road to Victory” initiative. Launched in 2021 in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, the project covers provinces located on the route of the Great Offensive—one of the most significant symbols of the Turkish nation’s unity and resilience. Each year, a village school is included in the initiative, with Uşak being the focus this year.
At its fifth stop in Uşak, İGA strengthened the educational infrastructure of Bozkuş Primary and Secondary Schools. The computer lab and library were renovated, while the İGA Social Solidarity Club also provided students with stationery, books, and toys.
The “Road to Victory” project was first launched in 2021 at Garipçe Village in Afyon. In the following years, it continued with Kınık Village School and Karacaören Primary School in Sinanpaşa, Afyon. In 2024, the initiative reached Kütahya, where a computer technologies classroom was established at Fuat Pasha Secondary School, along with the creation of a library holding 3,000 books. The project is planned to continue in Eskişehir next year.
İGA Celebrates the “Victory Day of August 30” Every Year with Enthusiasm
İGA Istanbul Airport also continues to celebrate national holidays, the symbols of unity and solidarity in our country, within its terminals. To mark the August 30 Victory Day, the airport will be adorned in red and white. Turkish flags will decorate the terminal, while a marching band and parade team will take part in the festivities. The celebrations will conclude with the distribution of Turkish flags to passengers, an event expected to attract significant interest from both domestic and international visitors.
