Strengthening its position as the most important central hub airport in the region, with its location, infrastructure, technology and high-level travel experience, iGA Istanbul Airport has taken its membership in The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA), the world's largest air cargo network, to the next level.
İGA Istanbul Airport offers transportation to 120 countries, 60 capitals and 130 destinations, with the significant role of Turkish Airlines and Turkish Cargo within a 3-hour flight distance, it provides a natural advantage for companies flying to and from Istanbul in terms of air cargo.
The "cargo city", which will reach 2 million tons of capacity in 2023 and 4.5 million tons of capacity after the completion of all of its phases, offers its users the chance to plan long-term and in large square meters of area. In addition to its geographical advantage, iGA Istanbul Airport demonstrates high operational efficiency for cargo transportation with its infrastructure and service quality.
The airport features notable advantages such as fast parking for cargo aircraft, easy transportation to and from passenger aircraft parked close to the terminal and passenger walkways through 3 independent tunnels on the apron, parking bays in front of the warehouses, and a capacity to hold over 29 wide-body aircraft at the same time.
İGA Istanbul Airport, having received international recognition for the resources it offers, has been upgraded from Corporate Membership in The International Air Cargo Association (TIACA) to Trustee Membership. With this promotion symbolizing the trust felt on a global scale, iGA Istanbul Airport is now more prominent in TIACA's communications, and is entitled to play a role in leading TIACA's vision and mission and to vote on the board of directors.
