iGA Istanbul Airport “0’’ Zero Point Exhibition

iGA Istanbul Airport continues to create socially beneficial projects where its sustainability policy integrates with its rapidly progressing works in areas of culture and art. The waste materials collected at iGA Istanbul Airport that turn into art with artist Deniz Sağdıç's interpretation meet the viewers through the "0" Zero Point concept.

  • With the "0" Zero Point project launched by Istanbul Airport, the artist Deniz Sağdıç creates works of art using old uniforms bearing the trademarks of iGA and its stakeholders, and any used/waste materials, objects, or pieces such as plastic containers, rubbish bags, and cables discovered and identified by Istanbul Airport's Waste Management Centre.
  • 20 artworks, put together as a result of an almost 4-month long atelier work carried out by the artist and her team, that consist of portraits with characteristics of different ethnicities are exhibited at Istanbul Airport.
  • The exhibition, launched on January 12, 2022, will be open for visitors in the Bosphorus area at the Istanbul Airport International Terminal for the next three months.
  • A portion of the income received from the sales of the artworks will be used in iGA's Corporate Social Responsibility Projects.
  • Istanbul Airport aims to inspire its visitors to commit to sustainability with the "0" Zero Point project.
  • Visual Artist Deniz Sağdıç, in "Ready-ReMade" which she launched in 2015, tries to restore everyday objects abandoned by people, as well as all kinds of waste materials, in the art world as works of art.
  • The artist aims to take art to a far more familiar level for people by using everyday materials rather than anything that requires specialization and skill, encourage them to question their consumption habits, and inspire institutions, as well as people, to commit to "sustainability".
  • She highlights that art, like every other area and industry, is a matter of sustainability.
  • You can access the details about the exhibition via official iGART social media accounts;
