Eco-Friendly Initiative from iGA Istanbul Airport and Singapore Airlines

Istanbul, 30 November 2023 – Singapore Airlines, in collaboration with iGA Istanbul Airport, recently organized an enlightening workshop focused on waste management at the iGA Istanbul Airport's waste disposal section. This initiative was held in conjunction with the European Waste Management Week, showcasing the joint commitment of both organizations towards sustainability and environmental responsibility.

The workshop, attended by students from three prominent universities, provided a hands-on learning experience on effective waste management practices. Participants had the opportunity to engage with professionals, gaining insights into the complexities of waste handling within a bustling airport environment.

After visiting iGA Istanbul Airport's waste disposal section, a workshop was conducted with Pınar Akkurt, an artist and designer focused on upcycling. During the workshop, products were designed using recycled materials.

Mr. Hongyao Hu, General Manager of Singapore Airlines Turkiye, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We are proud to spearhead initiatives that not only educate but inspire the younger generation to actively participate in sustainable practices.
