Air Malta Joins iGA Istanbul Airport’s Expanding Network

Air Malta, the flag carrier airline of Malta, has officially launched its scheduled flights to iGA Istanbul Airport. Operating three weekly flights from Malta International Airport to Istanbul, the airline aims to offer passengers a comfortable travel experience.

iGA Istanbul Airport has welcomed another international carrier to its ever-growing connectivity network. With the commencement of Air Malta’s flights from Malta International Airport in Valletta, the capital of Malta, on June 2nd, iGA Istanbul Airport has further strengthened its strategic position in European and Mediterranean aviation.

Flights will operate on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays using Airbus A320neo aircraft with a total capacity of 180 passengers. The aircraft will feature a dual-cabin configuration including business and economy classes, with the number of business class seats varying depending on demand.

Thanks to a codeshare agreement between Air Malta and Turkish Airlines (THY), passengers will be able to check in their baggage through to their final destination when traveling with connecting flights, in addition to benefiting from seamless travel on the Malta–Istanbul route with a single ticket. This partnership is expected to boost tourism and trade between Malta and Istanbul two prominent Mediterranean destinations while further strengthening cultural ties.
