Cargo Zone

Located within Istanbul Airport, one of the world’s aviation and cargo hubs, the Cargo Zone consists of approximately 2,000,000 m² of open and closed areas used as Temporary Storage Facilities allocated to companies such as Turkish Cargo, MNG Airlines, DHL Express, FedEx, UPS, Trendyol, Havaş, Çelebi, S Sistem, and PTT. In addition to these areas, the zone also includes 4 Free Warehouses, a Cargo Agency Building with a capacity of 305 offices hosting over 100 Customs Brokers and Cargo Agency companies, as well as Social Areas, Food & Beverage Areas, and a parking facility with a capacity of 5,000 vehicles.

Istanbul Airport has positioned itself among Europe’s busiest airports not only through its strong growth in passenger and flight numbers but also through its steadily increasing air cargo volume. In today’s rapidly evolving global trade environment, the airport has become a key hub within international logistics networks thanks to its modern cargo infrastructure, high handling capacity, and strategic location. With increasing cargo traffic, this position continues to strengthen day by day.

At this center, where up to 32 wide-body cargo aircraft can be parked or docked simultaneously, parking positions are located in front of the warehouses. From these points, an efficient operational infrastructure provides easy access to passenger terminals and remote parking areas. To ensure seamless connectivity, service tunnels on the airside—running beneath runways and taxiways—are utilized, allowing operations to continue without being affected by aircraft traffic. This structure stands out with its functionality.

The Airport City and Leasing Areas Directorate offers spaces within Cargo City for temporary and free storage. Additionally, offices ranging between 12–24 square meters in the Cargo Agency Building are available for periodic leasing to companies providing agency and customs brokerage services.
