iGA Istanbul Airport Cargo Hub and Logistics Center is a region established on a land of 1.4 million square meters in the first phase of the project and aims to be the largest cargo hub in the world with supplementary areas to be built in the next phases. Thanks to our country's strategic location, iGA Istanbul Airport Cargo Hub will become one of the most important actors in terms of contributing to the significance of air cargo transportation and therefore to the country's economy, with the constantly growing investments of domestic and foreign companies. The cargo operation volume of the Cargo/Logistics Center is in a trend with rapid growth and the capacity of air cargo tonnage is planned to increase up to 5.5 million tons per year with the second and third phases.
Cargo Hub and Logistics Center hosts many domestic and foreign companies which provide services such as warehousing, temporary and unconstrained storage, logistics, handling, line maintenance and airline catering. It is built on a wide area in order to provide services such as storage of imported and exported cargo goods, storage of goods whose customs clearance is processed and in free circulation, along with ground services, line maintenance and airline catering to meet customer needs at the highest level.
With the leading companies of the industry such as Turkish Cargo, Celebi, Havas, MNG, UPS, S Sistem and DHL Express, Istanbul Airport Cargo Hub is rapidly moving forward to become the world's largest cargo hub. At the same time, with the time-dependent service quality in the field of aircraft maintenance facilities of our Aircraft Maintenance and Repair Center, established on an area of 700,000 square meters located between two parallel runways, Cargo Hub will have the potential to become the leader of the industry worldwide. In addition, it will create an infrastructure of aircraft parts supply in the aviation industry, reducing foreign-source dependency and will become a worldwide center in this field.
The Istanbul Airport Cargo Hub, the building which houses the warehouse, the agency and customs offices, as well as the area where all cargo/logistic operations take place is located next to the Customs and Clearance Directorate, and all cargo/logistic operations continue in a systematic and uninterrupted manner. Parking positions are located in front of the warehouse for this center, where more than 30 wide-body airplanes can dock simultaneously. A flawless operation infrastructure that will not be affected by airplane traffic is designed between these positions, passenger terminals and remote parking areas by using the airside service tunnels passing under runways and taxiways.
The hub is to offer services such as banking facilities, cafes and restaurants, dry cleaning, hairdresser, prayer rooms, veterinary, health center, testing laboratories for the personnel of all companies working in the cargo hub and also those who use the area for business purposes. There are parking lots where 18 thousand large and small vehicles can park in a total usage area of 456 thousand square meters planned for backup areas where circulation is intense, futhermore there is an alternative entrance for passengers and employees to reach the cargo hub without being stuck in traffic during rush hour.
Airport City and Rental Area Group Directorate leases the areas in the cargo hub to domestic and foreign companies that provide services such as temporary and unconstrained storage, handling, airline catering and line maintenance. Also, offices with sizes ranging from 12 to 24 square meters in the Air Cargo Agency Building are leased to agencies and companies that provide customs consultancy services.
