The Spirit of Ramadan This Year Moves Beyond iGA Istanbul Airport

iGA, one of the top names in global aviation and renowned for its exclusive services to passengers, is hosting a series of activities to keep the Ramadan spirit alive throughout the month of Ramadan at Istanbul Airport. iGA continues to support earthquake victims with its iGA Ramadan truck, which it sent specifically for the month of Ramadan in Türkiye.

iGA Istanbul Airport, which serves as Türkiye's gateway to the world and is the most important transfer hub in the region, continues to stand out with the services it offers to its passengers during Ramadan.

iGA provides its guests and the earthquake victims with the opportunity to experience the spirit of Ramadan in an atmosphere that reflects our traditional culture, both at the Istanbul Airport terminal and in the earthquake-affected regions.

In the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes, the iGA Ramadan truck will continue to provide support to the victims of the disaster during this Ramadan by visiting Hatay, Kilis, Gaziantep, Osmaniye, Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, and Adıyaman provinces with gifts and activities.

New song by Sertab Erener for Ramadan

Especially for this Ramadan, Sertab Erener wrote and performed a song for iGA's Ramadan film. This beautiful piece, especially for Ramadan, can now be viewed on YouTube as well as iGA's other social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok, LinkedIn). Meanwhile, at Istanbul Airport, a funfair with activities such as a Ferris wheel, a carousel, and a trampoline await our younger passengers in front of the "Istanbul" sign.

Having developed the concept of the Ramadan Village in the Domestic Terminal, iGA welcomes passengers with the Keraban Ağa Table and Museum, while introducing the spirit of Ramadan to domestic and foreign guests arriving or departing from the airport with the Ramadan Village it set up after Passport Control in the International Terminal.

The Ramadan Village offers both traditional and innovative Ramadan activities such as Mihri Hanım VR Experience, Bilge Ay's competitions with children, Hacivat and Karagöz performances, drumming with Ali Kuka and traditional poetry, storytelling with Meddah Güler Hanım, and Kavuklu and Pişekâr performances.

While digital screens, airport entrances, and entry/exit gates are adorned with decorations and the phrase "Ramadan Kareem," the spirit of Ramadan is being celebrated in the most suitable way for the spirituality of this blessed month at Istanbul Airport.

The character designs in iGA's Ramadan 2023 concept were created by Brazilian artist, Jonas Pina. Under his direction, iGA worked with the Brazilian company, Miagui Animations, to manage the process, while also receiving support for this intensive production process from Animascope in Türkiye. For this project, in which many artists from Brazil, Mexico, and Türkiye collaborated, the typography was created by Fatih Hardal.
