Guiding its activities in line with the sustainability principles, iGA started yet another activity within the scope of "Environmental Awareness" at Istanbul Airport. With Kollekt application, it is aimed to provide behavioral transformation in waste management for passengers at Istanbul Airport.
Implemented by iGA with a sustainable approach from the design stage, Istanbul Airport continues to set an example with the value it attaches to the environment and its work in the field of sustainability. Celebrating June 5, the World Environment Day, in a meaningful way, iGA is launching the "Kollekt" application at Istanbul Airport.
Being carried out in line with the Zero Waste Policy of the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization by the Nature Conservation Center Foundation (DKM) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) with the support of Coca-Cola Foundation Center and collaboration with Kemer Municipality, and being designed as a part of Clean Mediterranean Community-Based Recycling Project "Kollekt" application aims to change waste management habits and raise awareness at Istanbul Airport.
The aim is to bring environmental awareness to the passengers.
Kollekt, a technological application that allows passengers show their respect to the environment, aims to have airport waste collected immediately. Taking firm steps toward being an airport that can transform its waste, Istanbul Airport supports its waste system with technological infrastructure. Since the map of Istanbul Airport is integrated in detail in the application, passengers will be able to take the waste they find to the nearest container.
How to use Kollekt app?
A picture of the waste found at the airport will be taken, and then the type of waste and how to dispose of it will be selected from the app. The application shows the way to the nearest container. This way, points are earned for each waste.
