Airlines Taking Their Places at The İstanbul New Airport

As the Istanbul New Airport construction continues in full gear, airline companies, that wish to operate at the new airport, started renting spaces. İGA will continue to accept request forms from airlines and airline service providers until November 18, 2016.

A critical period began for companies that wish to lease spaces at the Istanbul New Airport which will position Turkey as a global aviation hub in the future. İGA will determine the square meter rental fees based on the latest Public-Private Sector Cooperation (KÖİ) rates that will be published by the General Directorate of State Airports Authority (DHMİ) before opening the Istanbul New Airport. This rental fee tariff will be officialized after being approved by the DHMİ. Accordingly; invitations were sent to over 60 airline companies and airline service providers to submit their requests to İGA. Companies must submit their request forms until November 18, 2016 so that their preparations are complete to start operations before the opening of the airport.

CEO of İGA Airport Operation Hüseyin Keskin said: “İGA will host an unprecedented passenger and aviation experience once the airport is opened to public. Trouble-free handling of all services from passenger experience to cargo, hospitality services to duty-free services is of great importance to us. We stay committed to the rates set by DHMİ, one of the most important architects to unleash the potential of the Turkish aviation industry and to position Turkey as a future leader in aviation, and we invited the companies to submit their request for leasing spaces at the new airport. Based on the great interest we drew, I can comfortably state that the established airlines that are currently operating in our country would like to strengthen their positions and the new airlines watch for opportunities to provide services for passengers in our country. As İGA family, we are delighted to contribute to the competitive environment with this grand airport project that will turn Turkey into an important global aviation hub in the future."

The request forms can be accessed from the “Istanbul New Airport Request Form” link under the "Istanbul New Airport" menu on the homepage of İGA's official web site at
